Beyond deficits - how to develop a strengths-based approach to ADHD

Deficits is in the title of ADHD. Going through the diagnostic journey, we have to focus on the deficits, the places where ADHD has let us down, and the struggles that we've encountered. There are also a lot of people who will tell you how ADHD is a superpower, how special your brain is because of it.
Well you will have to excuse me but, I think there's a better way.
Developing a strengths-based approach to ADHD means focusing on more than just the deficits, and understanding the strengths, the passions, the brilliant outcomes that ADHD can help us create, but (and this is key) without emotionally bypassing all of the difficulties that come with ADHD.

In this webinar, join Leah to discuss:

  • The medical and social model of disability, and how these affect our understanding of ADHD
  • Approaching ADHD as you would a naughty puppy; learning how to work with it, trainer and support it, rather than rubbing its nose in its mistakes!
  • Understanding the role of environmental and social support, and how to make changes to support what you do best
  • How to approach difficulties and struggles with a strengths-based mindset

When: 27th November 2024, 10am-11am
Where: Online via Zoom

This session will be recorded and a replay made available within 7 days of the live delivery, for you to watch again or catch up as needed.
